Mexican Football: Mexican Cup MX Cup Champions by Year |
 Mexico |
The first Cup was organized in 1908 in Mexico City and called "Copa Tower" because the original trophy was donated by the English ambassador in Mexico Mr. Reginald Tower who arrived to the country in 1907. It included mainly clubs from the Mexico City area. In 1919 España won the first trophy outright and a second was instated by the "Primera Fuerza" League that included only clubs from the Mexico City area and was named "Copa Eliminatoria". In 1932 a third trophy was donated by recently founded F.M.F. (Federación Mexicana de Fútbol) and was named Copa México, it included only clubs from the "Primera Fuerza". |
